I really need you (@youpretentiousbastard) to understand how black people are disrespected for doing things in their own cultures and how insulting it is for white people to turn round and take those things after YEARS of telling us we’re less than for those same things-hair styles, hip hop, speaking mannerisms, etc. I NEED you to get that black American culture in particular is being stolen, commodified, and rebranded by white people. Then, and only then are those things seen as valid-when they’re on a white body. It is bullshit, and it’s not okay. It’s not about fucking equality and somehow you refuse to acknowledge that, yet still continue to follow me even though this is what I post.
